The NRL's integrity unit are investigating the incident, believed to have occurred after Bird's group were refused entry during teammate Anthony Don's bucks party in Brunswick Heads.
But Bird, believed to be on his last chance at the Titans, has denied any wrongdoing after the group was rejected entry to the venue.
"I left the premises(s) and someone from our party stayed and got into a physical altercation with the security," he wrote on his Instagram page. See the instagram post below (note: it was posted without a photo).
"Me along with everyone else in the group ran into (sic) separate the two involved and no-one else threw any punches.
"There is footage and witnesses to verify this."
Bird captained the Titans in 2013 and 2014, but was stripped of the position after he was caught urinating beside an unmarked police car.
He was also one of seven Gold Coast players charged with, but later acquitted of, possession and supply of cocaine early in 2015.
